Collaborations

Yao Bobby & Simon Grab
feat. Aisi Zhou

An intense improvisation between high energy body mouvements, pulsating feedback electronics and lyrical and political rap. Inspired by hip hop and rave culture with a strong experimental attitude they fire up an explosive sonic body, oscillating between the sound of mouvement and the mouvement of sound.

Aisi Zhou is a contemporary dance performer strongly influenced by hip hop and rave culture and martial arts. She has been working with choreographers like Simone Aughterlony and Marcelo Evelin. She studied dance performance at Manufacture in Lausanne.

Yao Bobby & Simon Grab
feat. Dhangsha

On their tour in 2019 they were supported by Aniruddha Das. Under his moniker Dhangsha (Bengali for «destruction») the co-founder and former bassist of the British electronica collective Asian Dub Foundation creates a kind of ‹mutant dancehall› – dark, edgy soundscapes where cyclical noise and distorted Alien motifs evolve over sparse but heavy beats. His remit is to explore minimalism, repetition and fragmentation in sound.

Their live broadcast on Radio RaBe Bern in Switzerland was released on cassette on LavaLava Records in Bristol UK.
